On
Tuesday, 30th April 2002, the Broadcasting
Commission of Ireland announced
that BEAT 101 was the successful
applicant for the new regional radio
licence for the South East of Ireland
(Counties Waterford, Wexford, Kilkenny,
Carlow and South Tipperary).
This is the first service of this
type to be licensed by the Commission.
The Chairperson of the BCI, Mr.
Conor J. Maguire, congratulated
the successful consortium BEAT 101
and expressed commiserations to
the consortium Power FM, who had
been runner-up in the process. BEAT
102-103FM commenced transmissions
in July 2003.

6th 1997 was a momentous occasion
for Limerick. The launch of Limerick's
Live 95FM made a serious impact
on the airwaves of Limerick City
and County. It is one of the best
