MARCH 1988: MILLENNIUM RADIO 88FM DUBLIN

This was the public office of Millennium Radio. My official title was 'General Assistant' - initially responsible for ad traffic and ensuring commercials were transmitted as per the schedule. Later I got to do reports and 'inserts' into programmes, plus reading the Sport News for the Breakfast and Drivetime shifts. The job also included making the tea, answering the phone and taking requests. Plus I had the key for locking up the premises when local programmes finished at 18:00 each evening.

Millennium Radio 88FM broadcast from studios in the GPO Arcade, Dublin from March 1988 through to May 1989.
