| Home | Next It came on the air in 1988, promoted by Dublin Corporation and RTE [Radio Telefís Eireann - The Irish State Broadcaster]. It also broadcast, coincidentally enough, on 88 MHz FM. The studio was situated in Dublin's City Centre in the GPO Arcade, just behind the General Post Office. The reason it was located there was that An Post [The Irish Postal Service] sponsored the radio station. The studio was 'open plan' - i.e. you could write a request and see the presenter do his or her show. The station also had a free Coffee Morning every Friday, sponsored by Bewleys, which attracted all sorts or interesting Dublin characters. |
