JANUARY 1981: RADIO DUBLIN, INCHICORE, DUBLIN

Strange as it may seem, these are the only photographs I have of Radio Dublin. I began my broadcasting career there - by accident - that was in early 1978. I stayed there for a few short months until April that year. Radio Dublin was the longest running pirate radio station in Ireland - perhaps even the world. You can read a history of Radio Dublin here.

In the early 1980's I decided it would be good to have a photographic record of the radio stations that I worked on. So, I headed over to Inchicore, on the west side of Dublin City to visit Radio Dublin. The photograph below was taken in January 1981:

Radio Dublin was running two radio channels at this time. This photo shows Radio Dublin (Channel Two) studio. The presenter was 'Gerry Jones'. Radio Dublin (Channel Two) used the following frequencies: 240 metres/1278 KHz (AM) and 90.2 FM
