21st NOVEMBER 1981: RADIO CAROUSL, NAVAN, COUNTY MEATH

Radio Carousel Navan came on the air on November 21st 1981. The station was based in the County Meath town of Navan, in the local Navan Shopping Centre. The studio was located in two hexagonal units, surrounded by glass on all sides. The big AM transmitter was located directly across from the studio, on the roof of the Penneys department store. The frequency was 1386 Kilohertz. Although this equals 216 metres, the announced wavelength was 210 "two-ten meters".
