Radio station owner jailed for ten years                                                                                              (3/10)

 

Dublin, March 12th, 2003

The founder and owner of pirate radio station Radio Dublin, "Captain" Eamonn Cooke, has been sentenced to ten years in prison for sexual assault. The radio veteran was convicted of 33 sexual offences against four young girls. The crimes, including an attempted rape and unlawful carnal knowledge, took place between 1974 and 1989. The victims were aged between seven and ten.
